Don’t Trust Your Data With Podio. 10 years of Data, and they just deleted it. I was a user of Podio for, maybe close to 10 years, and they were starting to get really popular in my industry (as it were very user friendly as a CRM). And during that time they were bought out by a bigger company, Citrix; And like most times as I’ve noticed, when a bigger company takes over a smaller company they make changes, and those changes usually includes adding or raising fees - but hey, you gotta make a buck some somehow, right, and so the fees were reasonably priced and not a big deal for me and my use. So getting to the point, like many people, if you have a business that you work seasonally, whatever, there may be times of inactivity, which NEVER WAS AN ISSUE BEFORE while pushing on close to 10 years of use and storing my data!!!!! So recently, I had some drastic life events going on, and so I hadn’t logged in for maybe 3 or 4 months (keep in mind, I’ve had longer periods of inactivity a couple time before with NO issue). But once those life events were at least somewhat settled, and it was time to get back to business, I go to log in to find ALL OF MY DATA WIPED!!! Important CONTACTS that took years to build, COMPLETELY gone. I reach out to a support rep, and all they can tell me is, well, “we sent you an email.” YOU SENT ME AN EMAIL!!!!! If I’m not logging into my account with you guys, maybe I have BIGGER STUFF GOING ON that means I haven’t been able to check the email associated with my account with you guys. The email they sent it to was the email that was just for this business and this account, which had been put on pause while I deal with personal matters. Also, I’ve have longer periods of inactivity over the course of close to 10 years AND NEVER HAD THIS ISSUE BEFORE. On “later” research (too bad I had to find this out the hard way as they don’t advertise this part well enough to existing users), apparently, they changed their policy to where they WILL DELETE YOUR DATA WITH THE QUICKNESS!!! …For paid subscription levels, if you go 1 month without logging in or inactivity or your card changed etc, YOUR DATA IS NOW ELIGIBLE TO BE DELETED, and for free subscription level users, if you go 3 months without signing in, YOUR DATA IS ELIGIBLE TO BE DELETED!!!! 10 YEARS OF IMPORTANT BUSINESS CONTACTS, ALL GONE!!!! You couldn’t just export my data in a spreadsheet before just deleting it!!! The point to take home, your data is NO LONGER SAFE IN PODIO CRM. Because of them, I’m now scared to trust safekeeping my business contacts in any CRM for that matter.
